EastLake Hills

EastLake Hills is one of the original villages of the EastLake master plan. It is part of EastLake I, the first phase, which opened in 1986, and its homes date from circa 1987 to 1992, which makes it one of the more established corners of eastern Chula Vista.

Most homes are detached single-family houses, typically with three or four bedrooms, in a range of roughly 1,500 to 3,300 square feet. Floor plans and lots vary by street, so it pays to compare several homes rather than assume they match.

• Special taxes. Ask for the property tax bill. A master-planned village can carry special taxes such as Mello-Roos on top of the base tax, and they are not limited by Proposition 13.
• Age of the home. The villages were built in phases, so roofs, heating and cooling, windows and water heaters are at different points in their life. A thorough inspection matters.
• The block itself. Walk the street at different times of day, and note parks, trails and traffic.
