Salt Creek Community Park

A 24-acre park in EastLake Trails on Otay Lakes Rd — sports fields, a skate area, tennis and basketball courts, a pond, walking trails, and a 19,500 sq ft rec center with a gym and fitness center.

Montevalle Park

A 29-acre park in the Rolling Hills Ranch / Otay Ranch area with a skate park among its amenities — a regular stop for EastLake and Otay Ranch families.

Mount San Miguel Community Park

A 19.5-acre community park with sports fields and recreation facilities, serving the eastern Chula Vista neighborhoods near San Miguel Ranch.

Kumeyaay Park

A 20.4-acre park in the Rancho Del Rey area, renamed from "Discovery Park" in 2022 to honor the Kumeyaay Nation — trails, open lawns, and picnic areas.

Upper & Lower Otay Reservoirs

Otay Lakes County Park sits just east of EastLake Woods and EastLake Vistas, with trails around both reservoirs, fishing, and the water views several EastLake neighborhoods are known for.

Otay Lake Park Loop Trail

A roughly 1.4-mile loop around Upper Otay Reservoir, generally rated moderate — one of the more popular short hikes in the area.

Rice Canyon Trail

Accessible from Kumeyaay Park, a canyon trail with a gentle downhill from the east side and an uphill climb on the other — popular for hiking and mountain biking.

Three active branches serve the city — the Otay Ranch branch is the closest to EastLake.
